Online Safety

As we all know children are increasingly using technology in their daily lives. A study carried out by Sheffield University (2016) showed that 1 in 5 children have a television in their bedroom, with watching a DVD replacing a traditional bedtime story. Recent research also shows us that tablets and smart phones are being increasingly used to access TV shows over a television set. Therefore at Stretton Day Nursery we have decided to give you some vital online safety tips to ensure you and your child is safe whilst being online.

Our staff attend a variety of courses to ensure their knowledge on online safety is up to date to maintain a safe environment for all children at each age.

Parental Controls

Parental controls can be used on devices to stop children accessing unwanted or inappropriate material. They can also be used to set up how long your child spends online.

Key internet providers (BT, Sky, Virgin and Talk Talk) have created short videos showing parents how to set up parental controls on their home internet.
