We are very proud of the outside space we have to offer at Stretton Day Nursery, providing children with a range of experiences and learning opportunities in our ‘outside classroom’.

We use our outside space in all weathers and children are supported across all areas of the EYFS in a safe and secure environment. Children are fully supervised in all areas of our garden at all times and their learning is guided and supported by our great team of qualified staff.

Our younger children have access to their own specific area with age-appropriate equipment and resources to support their learning and development.

Our older children can get very hands on in our gardening area – here we plant, nurture, observe and learn about a variety of fruits, vegetables and flowers which the children grow, water and where possible sample their own produce!

Our outside space is not just an excellent provision for developing large motor skills like bike riding, running and climbing, it is also an extension of our indoor learning environment where children can extend their literacy, mathematics and language and communication skills through games, stories and exploration.
